You are VITAL: NCMA Virtual Educator Workshop
UPDATE: Registration is now closed for these sessions.
Hey North Carolina educators! The VITAL Health team would like to acknowledge your incredible contributions to the community over the past year by inviting you to a virtual restorative workshop. No assignments. No expectations. No standardized testing. We promise. Simply show up just as you are to the on Zoom sessions.
Together, we will explore a meditative flower-making practice while engaging in an open discussion about your lived experiences as educators with contributors Dr. Kelsey Evans-Amalu and North Carolina educator Elena Rodriguez-DePaul. This workshop is FOR and ABOUT you. Please join us!
During this virtual session you will also get to see the short film associated with VITAL Health called “Crisis Materials.” The eight minute film features movement by Anthony Otto Nelson, Jr., poetry from Johnny Lee Chapman, III and VITAL Health wreaths made by community members from our previous 25 workshops.

VITAL Health is a community-based initiative created by artist Stacey L. Kirby and curator Michael S. Williams to address the mental health impacts of COVID-19 and the social unrest across the nation. Through flower-making workshops, art installations and interactive performances, VITAL Health helps address the state of mental health in our communities at this critical time in our lives.
